Did you know the largest organ in the body is the skin?? That is right, skin is a very important organ in your body. It is your body’s first line of defense against sun, bacteria, injury, moisture, and everything else that your body encounters on a daily basis. It is truly amazing to think about its many functions and its ability to repair itself!

As a plastic surgeon, I am often asked what can be done to improve appearance without surgery. After all, few people welcome the expenses and pain associated with a surgical intervention. Without a doubt, the most important non-surgical thing you can do is protect and nurture your skin. This is important with or without other interventions. Think of a house- a beautiful victorian mansion can look haunted without proper upkeep (here is a good before and after).

Skin care is a journey, not a quick fix. At The Hudson we focus on this journey. Your journey with us starts out by documenting any concerns using the latest technology at your initial consultation and then creating a skincare routine to help you reach your goals. Sometimes, lifestyle issues (I am looking at you, smokers and sun worshipers!) will need to be addressed. We take a multimodal approach to treatment which may include topical serums and creams, prescription products, facials, laser therapies, energy/microneedling, and neurotoxins (botox). As with most things in life, the more you put in, the better the result.

Welcome to The Hudson and good luck on your skincare journey!
