Skinvive is a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected as microdroplets below the skin surface. Understand The Uses of Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule in our skin, responsible for maintaining moisture levels and keeping our skin plump and supple. It is a moisture magnet, able to hold up
to 1,000 times its weight in water. For this reason, it is a common ingredient in skincare products to combat dryness, fine lines, and volume loss.

While topical HA is beneficial, it can only penetrate so deep into the skin. Skinvive offers a way to deliver hyaluronic acid micro-droplets below the skin surface. Skinvive is a HA gel that is injected into the dermis layer of the skin. This improves hydration which translates into
improved skin quality, smoothness, and a glowing complexion.

Skinvive is not the only hyaluronic acid based injectable. Hyaluronic acid has been used in what you may know as traditional dermal fillers since the early 2000s. Traditional fillers like the Allergan Juvederm line use HA to sculpt, restore volume, and soften the face. Fillers use a thicker and more robust HA which allows it to impact how the skin lies and can have a lifting effect. This is possible due to fillers typically being injected below the skin and muscle, just on top of the bone. Fillers act more like a natural implant in their ability to manipulate facial features.

While facials and medical-grade skincare are the foundation to good skin, Skinvive will give you a lasting glow that cannot be achieved from topical treatments. If you are looking for something to optimize your skincare routine, look no further.

We do not recommend use of this product in those that are pregnant or breastfeeding as it has not been studied in these groups. Additionally, those with any wound healing issues or pigment disorders should consult with their provider to determine if this treatment is safe for you.

FAQ

Yes, Skinvive is approved for treatment in the US by the FDA in May 2023. While Skinvive is new
to the US it has been available in Canada since 2018 under the name Volite.

Skinvive will provide skin smoothness and a lasting glow for up to 6 months with optimal
treatment and maintenance with a solid skincare regimen.

There is no downtime after Skinvive treatment. We recommend in the first 24 hours avoiding
strenuous exercise, alcohol, and intense heat exposure. These tend to trigger redness, itching
or swelling in the skin post-procedure.

The most common side effects are redness, lumps/bumps, swelling, bruising and tenderness.
Any side effects experienced are typically resolved within the first week.

Skinvive is referred to as a “skin booster” rather than a filler since it does not rebuild volume or
contour like Juvederm and other filler products. It is injected into the superficial layer of the
skin to hydrate your skin and gives you a glowing, refreshed look by working in the superficial
layer of the skin.
Traditional fillers do not impact the quality of the skin since they are utilized in a deeper layer
so that they can manipulate the face shape. They are most commonly used to plump lips, make
cheekbones more prominent or restore areas of volume loss from aging.

Before your Skinvive appointment, we advise that you abstain from alcohol for a couple of days.
If you take blood-thinning medications, let us know in advance as we may request that you stop
them temporarily.
We recommend avoiding makeup on the day of your treatment for faster service. If you wish to
have topical numbing medications, please arrive 30 minutes early to allow it to take effect.
Expect the treatment itself to take 15 minutes.

Skinvive makes an excellent addition to BOTOX® and Filler services. Here is the difference: BOTOX®
takes care of fine lines and wrinkles, Filler restores volume, and Skinvive improves texture.
Together these three treatments provide comprehensive anti-aging treatment.
While Botox is a great solution for minimizing wrinkles on the forehead, glabella, and crow’s
feet, it cannot be used to treat fine lines of the cheeks due to the muscles involved. Skinvive is
FDA-approved for use on the cheeks, providing fine line and wrinkle relief as well as texture
improvement.
Filler can be transformative in restoring volume and contouring the face, but it will not change
the quality of the skin. Pair it with Skinvive and you will have better skin quality to show off
your filler results.

In addition to injectables, adding Skinvive after a HydraFacial will give you a long-lasting post-
facial glow and repair dry skin from within.
Skinvive is also great after an energy device or laser because as the skin is healing it needs extra
moisture. Giving it a fresh supply of hyaluronic acid will amplify your results and make that new
even skin shine.

Skinvive is performed as an injection. Little droplets are injected using a small needle inserted
under the skin of the cheeks. Unlike filler treatments that inject deep under the skin, Skinvive is
injected superficially and feels similar to a Botox injection. The total treatment times is roughly
15-20 minutes.
