The Beauty of it

  • Provides instant visibly healthier skin
  • Aside from visible results, it improves the efficacy of skincare products
  • Quick and painless treatment with no downtime

Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive procedure that shaves away the uppermost layer of skin providing instant results for clearer skin. The procedure uses a medical grade exfoliating blade to remove dead skin cells as well as hair and debris, like blackheads, from your face, leaving it smoother and more radiant.

Dermaplaning can also improve your skin care regimen by allowing products to penetrate deeper, healthier skin layers. By stimulating the creation of healthier skin cells, dermaplaning can help you achieve the results without any downtime.

Where Can It Be Used?

Dermaplaning is a procedure that works best on your face and neck. It is appropriate for most facial areas, except the eyelids and lips. Dermaplaning can also be used on certain parts of the body.

Is it Right for Me?

Dermaplaning is a good treatment for clients with skin challenges such as dull or dry skin, congested skin, acne and peach fuzz. You may not be the right candidate for dermaplaning if you have an active infection, eczema, psoriasis, or skin rashes.

The Hudson Med Spa offers the answers you need about dermaplaning.

Dermaplaning is a safe, low-risk procedure that is minimally invasive and offers reliable results when professionals administer it. Because you will always get a consultation before the procedure, you can trust that it is the right choice if we determine you are a good candidate.

For most people, the best way to maintain results is to get dermaplaning once a month. However, results from dermaplaning may last anywhere from three to four weeks to a few months, depending on how fast your facial hair grows and the rest of your skincare regime.

Keep your skin moisturized, and be sure to wear sunscreen when in the sun. Avoiding abrasive skin care products for 5 days post treatment.

Dermaplaning is a safe and comfortable procedure. Most people prefer it to waxing, shaving, and laser treatments.

Scheduling a consultation with one of our aestheticians is the first step. They can evaluate the treatment area to determine whether dermaplaning is the right choice.

To prepare for the actual dermaplaning session, you will want to stop at-home exfoliating treatments for about five days before your appointment. You should also avoid sun exposure because it can make your skin more sensitive. Do not shave before the procedure.

You may also want to stop using abrasive skin care products. Avoiding acne products, especially Accutane, and blood-thinning medications like aspirin and ibuprofen is essential.
